Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which originated from China has a long history and evolved over thousands of years. The TCM practitioners use various traditional medicine or herbs and body practices such as acupuncture in healthcare field. The establishment of Research Centre of Traditional Chinese Medicine (RCTCM) is in tandem with the effort with the university to engage in the research and development in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Besides, this encourages development of particular methods and techniques of healing and meet the need of community. Currently this centre is composedly presented with 6 members from a variety of areas, such as Classical Prescription, Philosophy and History of TCM, Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and Molecular Biology. The RCTCM has a wide range of facilities such as medical laboratory in chemistry and biology to support analyses using quantitative, microscopy and gel electrophoretic method.
