The department aims to produce educators, language officers and writer who are able to address language and linguistic issues critically and creatively; able to utilize skills and knowledge acquired, particularly in the language field and able to use up-to-date Malay language studies ; and finally able to undertake research on the teaching and learning of Malay language.

Entry Requirement

• A pass in STPM/ A-Level with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two subjects and credit in Bahasa Melayu in SPM or its equivalent; or

• UEC with at least Grade B in 5 subjects including Bahasa Melayu; or

• Matriculation/Foundation with minimum CGPA 2.00 or its equivalent and credit in Bahasa Melayu in SPM or its equivalent; or

• A Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent and credit in Bahasa Melayu in SPM or its equivalent.
