Faculty Message

On 18 June 2020, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology has conducted Outcome Based Education (OBE) Training. The instructor is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sim Hiew Moi. The participants are lecturers from Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. The purpose of this training is to introduce the concept of OBE and how to apply it in teaching and learning.

In the training, the instructor has introduced the concept of OBE, the terms of  Programme Educational Objectives (PEO), Programme Learning Outcome (PLO), and Course Learning Outcome(CLO), the relationship among the terms and the way of implementing OBE in teaching and documentation. The instructor also shows the examples of using OBE in setting exam question and assignment, how to match PEO with PLO and CLO, how to use OBE to assess continual quality improvement and demonstrates an OBE system to lecturers.  FEIT lecturers have gained a lot of information and knowledge from the OBE training and it helps them to cope with the teaching and documentation in the future.
